The Love and New Notes premiere in Lagos draws top Nollywood stars as Timini Egbuson unveils the romantic drama ahead of Valentine’s screenings
Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson on Sunday hosted the Love and New Notes premiere at Filmhouse IMAX, Lekki, Lagos, drawing leading figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry ahead of the film’s nationwide cinema release.

The Lagos screening attracted music executive Michael Ajereh, widely known as Don Jazzy, actress Funke Akindele, actor Lateef Adedimeji and singer Lil Kesh, whose appearances underscored the strong industry backing behind the production.
Cast and crew members including Eniola Badmus, Odunlade Adekola, Akinyoola Ayoola, Sophie Alakija, Toluwani George, Constance Owoiyomi, Iyiola Elvis, The Don and Tolu Babs Omish were also in attendance.
The evening assumed an added celebratory tone when Sophie Alakija received a surprise birthday acknowledgement, prompting cheers from guests.
Produced by Muyiwa Idowu, co-produced by FilmOne Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment in collaboration with FilmTribe Media, the feature was directed by Kayode Kasum.
The story explores themes of love, choice and consequence, examining how personal decisions shape relationships and life trajectories.
Speaking after the screening, Timini Egbuson said the audience’s laughter and emotional reactions affirmed the creative vision behind the project.
The actor described watching viewers connect with the story collectively for the first time as profoundly rewarding.
Director Kayode Kasum characterised the film as a collaborative effort rooted in emotional honesty.
The director said the intention was to present a narrative reflecting the intersection of love, growth and personal responsibility, marking the premiere as a powerful milestone for the team.
Beyond the screening, the event doubled as a showcase of contemporary Nigerian pop culture. Guests embraced the film’s 1980s inspired love and crime aesthetic, adding nostalgic flair to the red carpet.
