Man escapes wife, mother-in-law’s cruel plan to deport him

UK-based nurse recounts how colleague avoided being sent back to Nigeria

Man escapes wife’s deportation plot after she and her mother allegedly tried to send him back to Nigeria despite his financial support

Man escapes wife’s deportation plot after his spouse and mother-in-law allegedly conspired to send him back to Nigeria because, according to reports, they “just didn’t like his face.”

The story came to light after a United Kingdom-based registered nurse, identified as @HOLARMEEDEY1, shared the experience of his colleague in response to a viral post urging partners not to cancel their spouse’s Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) over relationship disputes.

He noted that such cases are becoming alarmingly common, with people using immigration control as a weapon in failed relationships.

“Every other week, there are stories of people cancelling their partner’s visa just because the relationship ended,” he wrote.

Narrating his colleague’s ordeal, he revealed that the man had sponsored his wife to the UK three years ago.

Things reportedly took a dark turn when the wife invited her mother over, and together they allegedly began to make the man’s life miserable in an effort to force him out of their home.

“Man endured every single madness both her and her mother was doing,” the nurse wrote.

“There are days they would lock him outside. He would just find a place to sleep and go to work with the same uniform he wore the previous day.”

He claimed the man was deprived of intimacy, food, and peace of mind, adding that the wife only cooked for herself and their baby.

According to the account, a twist of fate saved the man when his hospital trust decided to issue new COS documents to all staff shortly before the UK government stopped offering sponsorships for healthcare assistants.

Seizing the opportunity, the man reportedly explained his situation to his manager, who approved a new COS for him; freeing him from his wife’s sponsorship control.

“Guess what? She is still thinking the man is her dependent because it was the man that renewed her visa, and she’s still maltreating him,” the post added.

The man has now set a date to move out permanently and has expressed readiness to pay child support, determined to rebuild his life in peace.

“Some people can be cruel,” the nurse concluded, drawing attention to how emotional conflicts can turn into exploitation under the UK’s dependent visa system.
