Omotola dance promotions debate as actress says she will not dance to market films if it feels forced, urging professional marketing roles

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde made the remarks during an appearance on TVC Entertainment, in a clip shared on Instagram on Tuesday, where she addressed the growing trend of dance driven promotional campaigns in the film industry.
The actress said she enjoys dancing but believes the backlash against such promotions arises from the pressure placed on performers to participate whether or not they feel comfortable doing so.
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde explained that there is a clear difference between spontaneous moments of fun among cast members and structured expectations that make dancing appear compulsory.
According to the actress, promotional activities should allow room for authenticity rather than creating what she described as a chore for actors who have already fulfilled their primary responsibility by delivering strong performances on screen.
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde added that marketing, distribution and advertising should be handled by professionals trained in those fields, rather than shifting that burden onto actors.

The comments follow similar sentiments expressed days earlier by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, who also stated that he would not dance to promote a film and questioned the financial logic of blockbuster box office figures that do not translate into meaningful returns for producers.
