MasterChef Nigeria Pressure Test sees Demilade eliminated after struggling with Chef Soliat Bada’s Egusi and Corn Bisque, while Loye wins Dish of the Day
The heat in the MasterChef Nigeria kitchen reached boiling point as the competition took an emotional turn in this week’s Pressure Test challenge.

After falling short in last week’s Team Challenge, Demilade, Fads, Loye, and Favy were placed under intense pressure as they battled for survival with their MasterChef dreams on the line.
At the centre of the challenge was a deceptively simple but technically demanding dish by celebrated Nigerian chef Chef Soliat Bada — an elevated Egusi and Corn Bisque blending comfort, creativity, and modern Nigerian flavours.
A former world-class athlete turned culinary innovator, Chef Soliat is known for reimagining Nigerian cuisine. However, her dish proved far more complex than it appeared.
With no recipe, no clues, and no questions allowed, the contestants relied entirely on instinct and taste. One mistake meant elimination.
Demilade carried extra emotional weight into the kitchen as captain of the losing Red Team. The pressure visibly affected her performance as she struggled to interpret the dish.
She admitted she was cooking under emotional strain, believing great food comes from love and positive energy. Despite her effort, her dish failed to meet the judges’ expectations, ending her journey on the show.
From the gantry, the Blue Team — David, Preye, Isabella, and Derry — watched the challenge unfold safely after their previous victory.
Fads showed strong confidence, relying on her palate as her greatest strength. She described the task as a replication challenge rather than an inspiration test.
Her accurate interpretation of the Egusi and Corn Bisque earned praise from the judges for precision and control.
Favy also struggled with presentation, but her flavours were described as accurate and well executed.
Loye delivered the standout performance of the challenge. For the first time, he trusted his instincts instead of overthinking.
Chef Eros praised his improvement, describing his dish as his most delicious yet. Loye was awarded Dish of the Day for his performance.
The competition continues next week with another Black Apron Challenge where pressure intensifies and another contestant risks elimination.
