May Edochie issues statement denying apology rumours to Yul, insisting she pursues divorce and damages claim despite viral letter narrative

In a Facebook post shared by her lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, she dismissed the apology rumours as “a desperate attempt to create a narrative when other efforts have failed.”

Her legal team made it clear that no apology was issued by May and that it was in fact Yul who “chose polygamy, and previously apologised.”

May Edochie issues statement to clarify that her stance remains firm. She confirmed that she has not retracted her divorce petition or the claim for damages related to adultery.

“Please disregard false claims that are being circulated. There has been no apology from May. She’s continuing to pursue the divorce proceedings and damages related to adultery,” the lawyer wrote.

May Edochie issued the divorce filing in 2023 after Yul introduced actress Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022. She demanded ₦100 million in damages from Judy, citing adultery as the cause.

This legal action heightened public scrutiny and sparked widespread conversation online.

May Edochie also addressed the nature of the rumours. Her lawyer explained on Facebook that the apology letter was merely a ploy designed to generate sympathy and distract from the legal process.

The statement insisted there was no genuine apology from May and portrayed the viral letter as a deliberate narrative shift .

In parallel, Omeka, the court has been progressing through various procedural stages.

The family law process includes a compulsory conference, which took place recently, and both parties must submit reports reflecting any agreements reached.

May did NOT issue any apology. It was Yul who chose polygamy, and previously apologised.

The court expected to receive these by the next hearing, scheduled for March.

The updates confirmed that May had successfully reached agreements with Yul on issues like child welfare and property division, but the core matter of marriage dissolution and adultery claim remains unresolved

May Edochie’s lawyer appealed for public calm, noting that May controls her family home and is not seeking to remarry at this time.

He urged Nigerians to focus on the legal process rather than social media speculation about her personal life.

This renewed clarification from May’s legal team arrives at a critical moment. Yul and Judy are expecting their third child together, keeping public attention firmly on the evolving domestic saga ([premiumtimesng.com][3]).

May Edochie issues statement that reinforces her commitment to the divorce and damages suit, emphasising full accountability.

She stands by the claim that Yul initiated the polygamous marriage and issued an apology. She, however, remains steadfast in her legal actions based on adultery and separation from the marriage contract.

Her firm position challenges the viral apology rumours, describing them as manipulative and misleading.

The clarification makes clear that legal proceedings will proceed independently of social media noise.

May Edochie’s declaration shows that despite constant headlines and speculation, the divorce case continues based on legal principle, not sensationalist narratives.

As the court awaits the next report, public attention remains firmly trained on the progress of the divorce and claims she has pursued.
