Nigerian musician, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known as Mayorkun, has received heavy backlash following the use of a controversial TikTok influencer, Nickie Dabarbie’s voice in his new song.
Mayorkun releases a new song titled, “Under The Canopy” using Nicki DaBarbie‘s voice recordings where she accused the singer of being a ritualist.
Nickie previously accused Mayorkun of attempting to use her for rituals and spiking her drink, accusations which he denied.
Reacting to the accusation, Mayorkun declared that he had to speak up considering how gullible people can be and claimed that has never set his eyes on Nicki physically and had no idea where her allegations came from.
He went ahead to vow that he must press charges against her. Taking to his Instagram page, the talented singer shared a video of himself in a studio recording, along with a snippet of his newly released song.
Some social media users have criticised Mayorkun, suggesting that this action might not sit well with Nickie, while others speculate whether the entire situation is a publicity stunt.
