Concerned authorities and members of the public are seeking information on the whereabouts of 17-year-old David Ashimolowo, a 100-level student of the University of Lagos, after he was reported missing following a beach outing at Tarkwa Bay in the Obalende area of Lagos on 30 August 2026.

Ashimolowo reportedly visited the beach with school friends and was last seen that night. His absence was noticed the following morning, 31 August, when he could not be located.

Initial reports suggested that he may have drowned, but the claim has not been independently confirmed. There is currently no verified information establishing whether Ashimolowo entered the water, was swept away or left the beach by another route.

The uncertainty has heightened concern among those searching for the teenager, while efforts remain focused on establishing what happened during and after the outing.
