An intense volleyball game with players competing at the net, showcasing athletic skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit in a professional indoor arena.

NCS volleyball championship triumph as Nigeria Customs women secure an unbeaten run to win the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship in Accra.

Nigeria Customs Service Head of Sports Samuel Onikeku on Sunday lauded the institution’s investment in athlete development after the NCS women’s team claimed the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship title with a commanding 3–0 win over the Ghana Air Force at the Borteyman Sports Complex.

The victory capped a flawless campaign for Nigeria’s sole representatives and underscored their dominance at the NCS volleyball championship.

The Nigerian side produced a clinical display, taking the sets 25–20, 25–23 and 25–14 to seal the trophy.

The triumph followed a series of convincing wins over Ghana Navy, Kalibi, Ghana Immigration and Elwak Wings during the week-long event.

Onikeku attributed the success to the sustained backing of Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, whose commitment to sports development has created what he described as an enabling environment for peak performance.

He said the team’s discipline and resilience were evident throughout the competition, adding that their victory reflected the benefits of long-term support structures within the service.

The championship also brought individual acclaim for Nigeria, with five players and officials receiving awards for outstanding performances.

Kelechi Genevieve delivered a powerful showing that earned her both the Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite honours.

Maryam Ibrahim was named Best Attacker, while Aisha Umar collected the Best Server award.

Bukky Oluwatosin was recognised as Best Middle Blocker, and Coach Suleiman Ajeigbe received the Best Coach accolade for guiding the team through an impeccable tournament.

The sweeping awards highlighted Nigeria’s remarkable presence in Accra and reinforced the team’s reputation as one of the most formidable sides in the region.
