Obasa, a six-term legislator representing Agege Constituency 1, has led the Assembly since 2015.

During a recent visit, the Chairman of the Conference, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, praised Obasa’s “peerless maturity and exemplary leadership,” which he said have kept Lagos at the forefront of legislative excellence in Nigeria.

The visiting Speakers, who joined Obasa for Iftar, lauded his ability to uphold the Assembly’s motto—“beyond the common standards of excellence.” They acknowledged his significant contributions to legislative efficiency and governance.

In his response, Obasa thanked his colleagues for their solidarity and encouraged them to focus on legislative effectiveness and efficiency in their respective states.

“Effective legislation plays an integral role in socio-economic development. Lagos stands out because we combine effectiveness—doing the right things—with efficiency—doing things right,” he said.
