The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Kaduna State Chapter, will on Saturday, October 3, 2026, lead a public relations roadshow through parts of Kaduna metropolis as part of a nationwide campaign to build awareness and participation ahead of the World Public Relations Forum 2026 in Abuja.
The Kaduna exercise, being conducted under a national directive of the NIPR, will begin at 8am from the Institute’s secretariat at No. 4 Yakubu Gowon Way, opposite Obasanjo House, before moving through Leventis Roundabout and Katsina Road Roundabout and ending at Magajin Gari, where the state’s Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, is expected to deliver the closing remarks.

The roadshow forms part of a broader mobilisation effort across Nigeria’s 36 states as the country prepares for a major international gathering of public relations and strategic communication professionals.
The Kaduna chapter said the exercise is intended to increase public awareness, encourage early registration, mobilise institutions and professional groups, and maintain visibility for the forum before delegates arrive in Abuja.
The initiative also gives local PR practitioners, journalists, students, youth organisations and members of the wider public an opportunity to connect with an event that organisers regard as an important moment for Nigeria’s communication industry.
WPRF 2026 is scheduled to take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja from November 15 to 21, according to the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management and the official Nigerian organising platform.
It will be hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in collaboration with the African Public Relations Association.
The Forum will be held under the theme, “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World”, with discussions expected to focus on trust, leadership, reputation, innovation and the changing role of communication in an increasingly interconnected world.
Organisers expect more than 3,000 delegates from 126 countries, bringing together communication professionals, government representatives, business leaders, academics, policymakers and other stakeholders.
The scale of the gathering has already attracted high-level international participation. Confirmed speakers and guests include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as chief host, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema as keynote speaker, Global Alliance President and CEO Prof. Justin Green, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming and INTERPOL Communications Director Samuel Heath.
The Federal Government has also indicated its support for the event. Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris recently assured the NIPR and Global Alliance that the government would provide the necessary backing for the forum’s successful hosting.
Idris said preparations were already underway and that “nothing will be left undone” to ensure the event showcases Nigeria’s capacity and hospitality.
NIPR President Dr Ike Neliaku has described the hosting opportunity as a significant development for Nigeria’s public relations profession.
The Institute has previously described WPRF as the “World Cup of Public Relations” while emphasising the country’s readiness to welcome the international communication community.
For Kaduna, the October 3 procession is therefore more than a promotional walk.
It is part of a coordinated national effort to take the message about the Abuja forum beyond professional circles and into communities and institutions across the country.
Expected participants and dignitaries in Kaduna include the Commissioner for Information and Culture, the President of Jam’iyar Matan Arewa, the Managing Director of NOCACO, representatives of Farmtrack and Mothercat, the President of Rotary Club of Kaduna Queens and other stakeholders.
The Kaduna chapter has invited its members, students, journalists, media practitioners, youth groups, institutional stakeholders and residents to participate in the exercise.
Medical personnel will also be available to provide first aid and other medical assistance during the procession, according to the organisers.
The Kaduna roadshow comes as the countdown to WPRF 2026 enters a crucial phase.
Earlier in the year, the NIPR took its promotional campaign beyond Nigeria, engaging international PR leaders in the United Arab Emirates as part of efforts to attract global participation.
The Forum will also coincide with the 37th African Public Relations Association conference, creating an unusually broad platform for conversations about the future of communication in Africa and beyond.

With the October roadshows expected to take place nationwide, the immediate objective is clear: translate the international profile of WPRF 2026 into wider public awareness at home before the global PR community gathers in Abuja in November.
