In a statement marking the occasion, Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, described the day as spiritually significant, noting that it heralds the beginning of Holy Week and reinforces the message captured in the Nonye Soludo Palm Sunday message.
She said Palm Sunday symbolises the universal kingship of Jesus Christ and the enduring supremacy of God, urging believers to reflect on its deeper meaning.
“Today, we celebrate the feast of Palm Sunday, ushering us fully into the Holy Week. Christ’s universal kingship is re-established across the world, a solemn message of divine authority,” she said.
Soludo encouraged Christians to use the period for spiritual renewal and to promote peaceful coexistence within their communities, emphasising values of compassion and unity.
She added that the observance provides an opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with God while embracing the principles of humility and service.
Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, an event widely regarded in Christian tradition as the beginning of the final week leading to Easter.
