‘Nulli secundus’ BBHS recognises Abiodun Akinlade’s contribution to educational dev’t in Ogun

Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State at the Federal Character Commission, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, was yesterday conferred with the DISTINGUISHED AWARD OF OUTSTANDING PROPRIETOR OF PRIVATE SECONDARY SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT at the Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, Centinary Anniversary Commemorative, Annual Dinner and Award Night.

Akinlade, a former chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology, was recognised on the heels of his contribution to the infrastructural developments of many schools in Ogun State.

The Baba Adinni of Yewa land is also the Founder/Promoter of THE GEM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS, a top-notch day& boarding private school in different parts of Ogun State.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Akinlade, ably represented at the award ceremony by Ogun State Coordinator of the Federal Character Commission, Mr. A.A Adeniran noted that “BBHS is a foremost school has produced high and mighty who has shaped and defined the development Ogun State and Nigeria has witnessed and continue to witness in all areas of socioeconomic and political aspects of human endeavors. The likes of His Excellency, President Olusegun Obasanjo, His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, late Bashorun MKO Abiola and host of others are proud products of this great citadel of learning.”

“Recent events has revealed that government alone cannot provide all necessary infrastructures needed to attain the desired standard of education of this generation, it is imperative that individuals and corporate organizations assist government in educational infrastructures, ” he noted.

Dignitaries present at the occasion were former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Otunba Gbenga Daniel former Ogun State Governor, Chief Adebutu Keshington Hon Ladi Adebutu, Prof Charles Adekoya among others.

The Alake of Egbaland HRM Oba Aremu Gbadebo, the Olubara of Ibara, HRM, Oba Dr. Olufemi Jacob Omolade, Ooni of Ife represented by Oba Buraimoh Muniru were among the traditional rulers present at the award ceremony.

Olubara of Ibara, HRM Oba Dr. Jacob Omolade while presenting the award, described Abiodun Akinlade as a perfect gentlemen, philanthropist and good ambassador of Ogun State. The monarch urged him to continue with his good work in the service of his community and state at large.
