Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has declared his bid for the Agege House of Representatives seat ahead of APC primaries

Obasa announced his decision during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Agege, Lagos, on Tuesday.

According to the Lagos lawmaker, leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the constituency encouraged him to join the race for the federal legislative seat.

The declaration is expected to intensify political activities within Agege as aspirants continue consultations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the party primaries.

During the meeting, Obasa also appealed to party members to support former Agege Local Government Chairman, Ganiyu Egunjobi, who is seeking to represent Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He further endorsed Azeez Oladapo Yusuf Ninolowo for the Agege Constituency II seat, signalling growing alignment among party stakeholders ahead of the internal elections.

Political activities have continued to gather momentum across Agege and Orile-Agege, with supporters and party loyalists mobilising delegates in preparation for the primaries.

Party members in the area are also awaiting the outcome of the ongoing screening exercise being conducted by the APC leadership at both state and national levels.
