Controversial pastor Odumeje calls for Nigeria’s separation, citing unemployment, insecurity, poor infrastructure, and mismanagement of resources
Controversial Nigerian pastor Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has stirred reactions online after calling for the separation of Nigeria.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the cleric expressed frustration over the persistent socio-economic and security challenges facing the country. He cited unemployment, insecurity, poor infrastructure, and unstable electricity as reasons why the idea of national separation should be considered.

“If you people cannot handle the country as they call one Nigeria, separate the country. Let’s separate this one Nigeria. Because I did not see anything coming out of it,” he said in the video.
Odumeje further alleged that a few individuals are monopolising the nation’s wealth and resources while ordinary citizens continue to struggle.
According to him, the current system has failed to deliver meaningful development to many parts of the country.
“They are happy enjoying the resources that belong to everybody. Governors are happy embezzling the money that belongs to the people,” he added.
The outspoken cleric also questioned the benefits of unity under the current structure, pointing to poor road networks, lack of stable electricity, and security concerns in oil-producing areas such as the Niger Delta.
