Ogun murder Akute arrest suspects as police detain three people over alleged killing and attempted concealment of victim in Akute
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested at least three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Stanley Okirie in the Akute area of the state, in what authorities describe as a disturbing criminal case involving attempted concealment of the victim’s body.

Ogun murder Akute arrest suspects was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who identified the suspects as Maureen Okirie, Salia Karikari and Jubril Karikari.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended on Thursday following an anonymous tip-off that led detectives to the scene of the alleged crime.
Investigators reportedly arrived at the location and caught one suspect allegedly attempting to bury a blood-soaked body in a shallow grave in what is believed to be an effort to conceal evidence.
A preliminary examination revealed that the victim suffered a severe head injury, while further findings suggest he was allegedly attacked with a wooden pestle during the incident.
Ogun police arrest suspects in Akute murder case also indicates that the accused individuals, who are reportedly relatives of the deceased, allegedly conspired in both the attack and subsequent attempt to hide the body.
Police confirmed that the suspected murder weapon has been recovered, while the body has been deposited at the Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe for autopsy.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
