Ogun police arrest a security guard over alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl, recovering a locally made firearm during investigation
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old security guard, Abraham Aneka, over allegations of defilement, criminal intimidation and attempted robbery involving a 16-year-old girl in the Abule-Ijoko area of the state.

The arrest followed a complaint received at the Agbado Division in the early hours of June 10, 2026, by a family member of the victim, who reported that the incident occurred on the night of June 9, 2026.
Police said the suspect allegedly accosted the victim while she was returning home and threatened her with a locally made single-barrel firearm before taking her to his residence.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said operatives of the Agbado Division launched a coordinated response immediately after the report was received.
He stated that the suspect was tracked and arrested, while the firearm allegedly used in the incident was recovered during the operation. The scene of the incident was also visited as part of investigations.
According to preliminary findings, the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent and attempted to dispossess her of her belongings.
Babaseyi said the victim has been issued a medical form and taken to a hospital for examination and treatment.
He added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.
The command reiterated its zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence, particularly offences involving minors, and assured that the suspect would be prosecuted in line with the law.

Police also urged residents to report cases of abuse and suspicious activity promptly for immediate action.
