Okemesi made the emotional plea on Thursday during an interview with fellow actor Tony Montana, marking his first public appearance after being absent from the screen for nearly a year.
According to Okemesi, the alleged attack resulted in a sudden decline in his health, leaving him temporarily unable to walk or speak.
He said he was initially taken to Island Hospital, where well‑wishers helped cover his medical bills, but his condition worsened despite treatment.
“It was a spiritual attack,” Okemesi said.
“May God protect us from spiritual arrows. I couldn’t talk or stand. I became crippled.”
He explained that those assisting him later contacted his family after searching his phone for relatives’ numbers.
His elder brother reportedly brought him to Osogbo and sought spiritual intervention from an Islamic cleric.
Okemesi claimed that he began to regain mobility hours after prayers were offered, walking with the aid of crutches the same day.
He attributed the recovery to prayers and what he described as divine intervention.
However, he said his situation deteriorated again after leaving the cleric’s residence.
According to the actor, his brother subsequently suffered an accident and a marital crisis, forcing Okemesi to leave the family home.
With no stable accommodation, Okemesi said he began staying on church premises and is now effectively homeless.
“I don’t have a place to sleep. I don’t have anything. It’s difficult to feed,” he said.
“My fans, you are the only thing left for me. Please, I need your help to get back on my feet, especially with accommodation.”
During the interview, Tony Montana expressed visible concern, saying it was difficult to recognise the actor in his current condition and describing the situation as deeply distressing.
