Olasco Films slams Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel, rejecting fraud and blacklisting claims in a forceful response to recent interviews

Veteran movie marketer Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has described actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel as ingrates while responding to allegations made during recent interviews.

Akeem Olatunji Balogun made the remarks in an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, firmly rejecting claims of financial misconduct and industry blacklisting.

The comments follow an earlier interview in which Okunnu accused Olasco Films of withholding profits from a film produced 16 years ago.

Okunnu said he had not forgiven Olasco Films and alleged that all proceeds from the project were pocketed.

Reacting to that claim, Akeem Olatunji Balogun insisted that he provided Okunnu with N2 million at the time to handle production costs.

According to the veteran marketer, production expenses during that period ranged between N700,000 and N1 million.

Akeem Olatunji Balogun used a pointed analogy to express his disappointment.

The marketer likened Okunnu to “a blind man using a walking stick” who discarded support after regaining sight, arguing that the actor’s remarks were both unfair and ungrateful.

The controversy also extends to Austin Emmanuel, who had in recent months accused Olasco Films and his associate, Toymax Films, of blacklisting him within the industry.

Austin Emmanuel further alleged that Toymax Films had an inappropriate relationship with his partner, identified as Aisha Raji.

Addressing those claims, Akeem Olatunji Balogun dismissed the accusations as an attempt to generate attention.

The marketer stated that he supported Austin Emmanuel’s early career by helping to promote the film that first brought the actor recognition.

“Austin Emmanuel wants to trend with my name,” Akeem Olatunji Balogun said, maintaining that his involvement in advertising the actor’s breakthrough project played a decisive role in his rise.

The dispute has stirred renewed debate within Nollywood circles about transparency, loyalty and long standing grievances in the industry.

While neither Okunnu nor Austin Emmanuel has responded publicly to the latest remarks, the exchange marks a dramatic escalation in a simmering feud that has unfolded over several months.

Industry observers say the fallout underscores the fragile relationships that can exist between marketers and performers in Nigeria’s competitive film sector.
