According to a statement issued by Michael James on Sunday, the Oluwakemi James burial programme will begin with a Service of Songs on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Stella Hall, Daystar Christian Centre, Ikosi Road, Oregun, Lagos, between 4pm and 6pm.

The funeral service will take place the following day, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the same venue from 10am to 11am, after which the interment will hold in a strictly private family setting.

Fondly called Kemi, the late Oluwakemi James died on March 12, 2026.

She was the first child in her family, born on July 29, 1972 to Army Captain Yemisi and Ololade Oyediran.

The Oluwakemi James burial programme follows the life of a woman who married Michael James on February 8, 2006, and is survived by two children, Kufreabasi and Anietientebasi.

She began her education in Shomolu, Lagos, before attending Shepherdhill Girls High School, Obanikoro, and later Federal Government Girls’ College, Oyo.

She proceeded to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and Yaba College of Technology, both in Lagos, where she obtained her Higher National Diploma.

Her professional journey began with an industrial attachment at First Bank of Nigeria in Ikeja, followed by a reporting stint at African Concord Magazine.

She later worked with Modern Design and Associate in Lagos before completing her National Youth Service Corps programme at the Lagos State Printing Corporation.

After NYSC, she joined Swift Freight International Nigeria Limited as a marketing executive, where she worked for three years before venturing into private business.

She later founded Limelight Caterings Limited, turning her passion for healthy cooking into a thriving enterprise.
