Ondo APC Aborigines support Tinubu’s

Ondo APC aborigines support Tinubu’s 2027 re-election, pledging 400,000 votes and stronger grassroots mobilisation in Ondo State.

Ondo APC aborigines support Tinubu in a renewed show of loyalty and political strategy, pledging to mobilise at least 400,000 votes for his re-election in the 2027 presidential race.

The commitment was made during a high-level meeting of the group in Akure, Ondo State’s capital, on Thursday.

The gathering brought together party elders and leaders from all 18 local government areas under the banner of the Ondo APC Aborigines.

Former Nigerian Ambassador to Togo and group convener, Sola Iji, said the meeting aimed to strengthen internal cohesion and reaffirm loyalty to the APC and the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

“Our commitment to the party and the Tinubu-led government is unwavering. We must not be counted among those trying to bring down this administration. Rather, we must fortify it,” Iji declared.

Highlighting the state’s previous performance in the 2023 election, Iji reminded members that Ondo delivered the highest percentage of votes for Tinubu nationally — 67%, and expressed confidence in surpassing that mark.

“This time, we want to contribute nothing less than 400,000 votes — beyond what the official party structure will mobilise,” he added.

He described the group’s mission as complementary to the main party structure, especially in deepening grassroots engagement.

Iji praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for maintaining a politically open environment that allows independent party-aligned groups like the Aborigines to thrive. He also thanked the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his continued support.

“We appreciate the Honourable Minister for his encouragement and the Governor for enabling us to organise freely. Our unity is our strength,” Iji said.

The gathering reinforced the Aborigines’ commitment to bridging internal divides, focusing on results, and amplifying APC’s message at the local level.

In a political climate where internal party cohesion often determines electoral strength, the group’s pledge has added renewed energy to APC’s mobilisation strategy in Ondo State.
