The Onikosi-in-Council has formally notified His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ottaland, of the passing of Kabiyesi Onikosi of Osi Otta, Oba Sikiru Ishola Anibire, who peacefully joined his ancestors today, March 19, 2025.

Honouring Ottaland’s sacred traditions, a delegation from the Onikosi-in-Council delivered the solemn message at Ipeti Royal Square, where the Balogun of Otta, High Chief Isiaka Idowu Balogun, received them on behalf of His Majesty.

Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi, speaking on behalf of the Palace of Olota of Ottaland, described Kabiyesi Anibire as a visionary leader whose reign brought remarkable growth and development to Ottaland.

He expressed deep sorrow over the loss, praying that Eledumare grants the late monarch eternal rest and gives his family, as well as all sons and daughters of Ottaland, the strength to bear this great loss.

Traditional burial rites commence immediately.
