Femi Otedola made the clarification in a public statement shared on social media, where he addressed circulating claims linking him to financial support for the multi-billion-dollar refinery project.
He stated clearly that he did not invest any money in the refinery and rejected suggestions that he contributed financially in any form.
Femi Otedola also explained that he was not involved in any funding arrangement with Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, or Mike Adenuga regarding the project.
According to him, the Dangote Group remains a highly structured organisation with strong capacity to raise capital through established financial channels.
He described the viral claims as calculated misinformation aimed at creating tension among respected private sector leaders in Nigeria.
Femi Otedola further clarified that Aliko Dangote never requested financial assistance from him or from the other named business figures.
He noted that such narratives were being used to distort facts and misrepresent long standing professional relationships within Nigeria’s business community.
The businessman urged those spreading the reports to desist immediately, warning against the spread of false information on social media.
He also emphasised that public platforms should not be used to create manufactured drama around individuals who have contributed significantly to economic development.
Femi Otedola reaffirmed his respect for Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, and Mike Adenuga, describing them as nation builders with decades of investment and job creation.
