Otunba Gbenga Daniel Empowerment Ogun East 2025

Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s BATOGD Movement 2027 event on September 27, 2025, brought joy to Ogun East, with widow Solagbade Alice receiving a sewing machine for her son. Discover how OGD’s empowerment program is transforming lives

On a vibrant Saturday morning, the Ogun East Senatorial District buzzed with hope and gratitude as Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, fondly known as OGD, hosted his midterm community assessment and review event, tagged the BATOGD Movement 2027.

The event, held on September 27, 2025, transformed lives through a heartfelt empowerment program, with one elderly widow’s story stealing the spotlight.

Solagbade Alice, a widow from Ogun East, could barely contain her joy as she clutched a brand-new sewing machine, a lifeline for her son, a struggling tailor unable to start his business due to lack of funds.

Her eyes brimmed with tears of gratitude as she shared her story with the gathered crowd. “This is not the first time Otunba Daniel has impacted my life,” Alice said, her voice trembling with emotion.

“When he was governor, my children came home from school with new books courtesy of him. This happened after my husband died.

Just three days ago, I was crying because I couldn’t afford a machine for my daughter, Adepeju, after her tailoring apprenticeship. Today, I didn’t expect my prayers would be answered by Otunba Daniel.”

The event, part of OGD’s ongoing commitment to grassroots development, saw dozens of residents receive transformative gifts, including fertilizers for farmers, cash grants for small businesses, motorcycles for transport entrepreneurs, and more.

The initiative, aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, underscored Daniel’s dedication to uplifting vulnerable groups in Ogun East.

As the former governor of Ogun State (2003–2011) and current senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Daniel has a long history of community-focused leadership.

From providing free school books during his governorship to commissioning projects like the Renewed Hope International Market at Ìgodè, his efforts continue to resonate.

The BATOGD Movement 2027, launched just days earlier on September 21, 2025, aims to mobilize support for Tinubu’s re-election while addressing immediate community needs.

For beneficiaries like Alice, the event was more than a handout—it was a beacon of hope. “This sewing machine means my son can start his business, and my daughter’s dreams are closer to reality,” she said, smiling through tears.

Other recipients echoed her gratitude, praising OGD’s unwavering commitment to Ogun East’s progress.

As the event concluded, the air was filled with cheers and optimism, a testament to the power of leadership that prioritizes people.
