The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has officially released its guidelines for the nomination of candidates for the forthcoming Local Government election.

The election, scheduled for October 5, 2024, is being organised by the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

The guidelines, signed by Hon. Oryina Orvaa, the Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary of the party, were made public on Monday. They detail the procedures and schedules for the screening of aspirants.

According to the guidelines, councillorship aspirants from Zone A will undergo their screening at London Galaxy Hotel in Adikpo at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Those from Zone B will be screened simultaneously at the PDP State Secretariat in Makurdi, while aspirants from Zone C will have their screening at Leach Hotel in Otukpo.

Hon. Orvaa further noted that any appeals arising from the screening or conduct of the primaries will be heard on Thursday, August 28, 2024, at the party headquarters in Makurdi.

He urged all aspirants to ensure the submission of completed forms alongside their tax clearance certificates, party membership and voters cards, photocopies of nomination and expression of interest forms, evidence of payment of handling charges, and academic qualifications, which must be presented during the screening.
