Pere Egbi made the remarks on social media, pointing out that other pastors often adopt unconventional styles, including braids, dreadlocks, earrings, and jerry-curl hairstyles, yet these do not attract similar criticism.
Egbi argued that public perception of pastors can be inconsistent, noting that outward appearances do not define spiritual commitment.
“Some people would be amazed at the people they’d see in heaven. People, most of y’all write off here on earth as carnal. Some are in for a rude awakening,” Pere Egbi wrote.
The reality TV star’s comments sparked discussion about the evolving expectations of Christian leaders in contemporary society, highlighting how style choices intersect with traditional views on ministry and decorum.
