The incident reportedly occurred while the singer was preparing for the family celebration, following a brake failure that forced him to lose control of his vehicle.

According to Portable, he swerved into a ditch to avoid a more serious collision, a split-second decision that he says saved his life in a frightening moment on the road.

In a video shared via his Instagram story, the singer expressed gratitude and relief after surviving what he described as a near-death experience.

“My fans, join me to appreciate God. I was just driving out this evening when the accident happened,” he said.

He further explained the severity of the situation, noting that the vehicle suffered brake failure while he was on the move.

“Nothing do me, I came out unhurt. I suddenly realized that the car had failed brake,” he added.

The singer also suggested that the outcome could have been tragic under different circumstances, especially given the presence of heavy-duty vehicles on the road.

“My people have arrived here. I thank God they are not here to carry my corpse,” he said.

Despite the incident, the artiste confirmed that preparations for his son’s naming ceremony had already been completed, including the purchase of two cows for the celebration.

The event comes shortly after the birth of his child with his wife, Bewaji, who delivered during a boxing event involving the singer earlier in May 2026.

The crash has since sparked reactions online, with fans expressing relief that the entertainer escaped without injuries ahead of what was meant to be a joyful family occasion.

Portable is expected to continue his scheduled activities following the incident, as preparations for the naming ceremony proceed.
