The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG Region 52, has awarded academic prizes, cash gifts and school bags worth approximately ₦6 million to 364 secondary school students as part of its community education outreach programme.

The presentation followed the successful completion of a five-week free lesson programme organised for students within the host community, with beneficiaries drawn from different schools regardless of their religious background.

Speaking during the award ceremony, church leaders said the initiative was designed to support families facing rising educational costs while creating an academic environment that encourages excellence among young people.

The programme provided free tutorial classes in core secondary school subjects, giving students additional learning opportunities during the holiday period and helping them prepare for the new academic session.

According to the organisers, the educational intervention reflects RCCG Region 52’s commitment to community development through initiatives that extend beyond religious activities and directly impact the lives of residents.

The church noted that opening the programme to every student in the community, irrespective of faith or denomination, was intended to promote inclusion and ensure that children from diverse backgrounds could benefit from quality educational support.

Parents and community members commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention amid increasing financial pressure on households and the rising cost of educational materials.

RCCG Region 52 said it would continue investing in educational and humanitarian programmes aimed at empowering young people, improving learning outcomes and strengthening community engagement.

The church added that education remains one of the most effective tools for shaping responsible future leaders and reducing barriers to opportunity for children across the community.
