A bestselling author, Reno Omokri, has taken a swipe at the former presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, over an alleged misplacement of his phone.
Recall that in a viral video, Obi seemed to be worried and complaining to his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, about his missing phone inside the court room at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.
Omokri wondered the quality of leadership the politician could be promising Nigerians if a loss of his phone could have such an effect on him.
“If You Panic Like This, Because You Lost Your Phone, How Can You Be Expected To Manage a Leadership Crisis, Like The Situation in Niger?” he mocked.

Meanwhile, the LP’s candidate has clarified that his phone was not stolen.
According to a statement by Valentine Obienyem, spokesman for Obi, one of the aides of the presidential candidate took the phone for safekeeping after Obi dropped it on the table to exchange pleasantries.
He said “Yesterday, the news of the loss of Mr. Peter Obi’s phone went viral. The spontaneous outpouring of solidarity was yet again a demonstration of the love of the people for him.
“May I happily inform you that it was not a case of theft. He left the phones on his table to exchange pleasantries with some people in court, whereupon, for safety sake, one of his aides picked the phones
“Once again, we appreciate your concern.”
