The Zamfara state government has said that repentant bandits have surrendered 203 sophisticated firearm, under the state government peace accord.

The state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Garba Dauran, made this known to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday, May 27. According to Dauran, 2,566 live ammunition, 64 magazines, two handcuffs and 887 locally fabricated Dane guns have been surrendered by the bandits since the government peace accord started on February 7.

The Zamfara Government in an attempt to stop bandit attacks in the state launched the peace accord to give room for those bandits who have turned a new leaf to surrender their arms and embrace peace.
