Isaac Romero comforts Akor Adams after his crucial miss helped Sevilla secure a 2-2 draw in La Liga derby
Super Eagles striker Akor Adams was consoled by his Sevilla teammate Isaac Romero after missing a critical scoring opportunity in stoppage time during Sunday’s La Liga derby at La Cartuja Stadium. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The missed chance, which could have secured all three points for Sevilla, left Adams visibly distraught. Romero, recognised for his leadership and morale-boosting presence, immediately approached Adams to offer reassurance.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, Romero praised Adams for his performance, stating, “He has no reason to be sad, he worked very well, he did everything he could, and he should be happy about this important point.”
Romero also reflected on Sevilla’s resilience, noting the team’s strong fighting spirit after coming back from a two-goal deficit.
He scored the equaliser and emphasised the importance of unity and focus during the match’s decisive moments.
Akor Adams has been a key figure for Sevilla this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in La Liga. His contributions have been vital to the team’s attacking efforts despite the disappointment of the late miss.
