Rotary District 9112 Rotakids party brings children and families together at a landmark end of year celebration in Lagos

The Rotakids Committee of Rotary District 9112, in collaboration with the Family of Rotary Committee, hosted the Rotakids End of Year Party during the annual Family of Rotary Celebration at the Police College, Ikeja GRA, marking a significant moment in the district’s youth development drive.

The event brought together Rotakids, parents and Rotary leaders from across Lagos and Ogun States, reinforcing Rotary District 9112’s commitment to introducing children to the values of service, leadership and community responsibility at an early age.

Chairperson of the Rotakids Committee, Rotarian CP Oyebola Adeyanju of the Rotary Club of Dolphin Estate, said the programme reflected Rotary International’s long standing focus on nurturing future leaders through character building and teamwork.

Rotarian CP Oyebola Adeyanju described the children as the future of community leadership and noted that the celebration was designed to help each child develop confidence, creativity and a sense of purpose. Rotarian CP Oyebola Adeyanju also acknowledged the role of families in sustaining the Rotakids vision across the district.

The celebration combined learning with recreation, offering activities such as games, bouncing castles and supervised rides, creating an atmosphere of unity and shared joy among families.

District Governor of Rotary District 9112, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, said the Family of Rotary Funfair 2025 demonstrated Rotary’s belief in balance between service and recreation.

Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin explained that Rotary places strong value on family bonding, networking and relaxation, describing the gathering as both enjoyable and impactful for members and their families.

Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin added that the event strengthened relationships within the Rotary community and provided an opportunity for members to reconnect while their children engaged in meaningful and fun activities.

Other members of the organising committee included Rotarian Ronke Akeredolu, Vice Chair; Rotarian CP Enitan Oteju Ibironke, Secretary and member of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Legend; Rotarian Elizabeth Azubike, Protocol; Rotarian Ibijoke Popoola, Club Liaison for Lagos; and Rotarian Marvin Arogundade, Club Liaison for Ogun.
