Seun Kuti Targets Fake Miracles

Seun Kuti fake miracles warning: Singer urges FG to jail pastors making unverified miracle claims to protect Nigerians

Seun Kuti has called on the Federal Government to take strict action against pastors who claim to perform unverified miracles, urging the introduction of laws to penalise false claims.

During a live broadcast, Kuti stated that pastors should only be allowed to perform miracles that can be scientifically verified under proper medical supervision.

He suggested that Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) serve as the site for evaluating any alleged miracle, with tests repeated for multiple cases to confirm authenticity.

Kuti emphasised that claims should not rely on anecdotal stories or church testimonials. He said, “They should perform the miracle for ten people at LUTH. I do not want to hear about fake miracles, because your God can do all things.”

The singer proposed stringent punishments for those unable to substantiate their claims, recommending imprisonment of up to fifty years for pastors who fail to provide evidence of their miracles.

Kuti cited extreme examples, noting that a genuine miracle should demonstrate verifiable results, such as restoring full vision to someone completely blind, under the observation of medical professionals.

He explained that the move is intended to protect the public from being misled and to ensure accountability in spiritual claims.
