The announcement was made on Sunday by Yinka Oyebode, Special Adviser on Media to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

According to Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji will lead senior government officials to receive the Vice President upon his arrival at the Ekiti Agro Allied International Cargo Airport.

During the Shettima Ekiti State visit, the Vice President is expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, a project aimed at promoting innovation, technology and investment in the state.

He will also inaugurate the newly constructed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission along Old Iyin Road in Ado Ekiti.

In addition, Shettima will commission the newly completed 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, one of the flagship projects of the Oyebanji administration.

“During the visit, Vice President Shettima, who will be representing President Bola Tinubu, will perform ground breaking for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone.

He will also inaugurate the newly built Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission along old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti,” Oyebode said.

“The Vice President will also inaugurate the newly constructed 1.2 kilometres Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover, one of the legacy projects of the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration at Okeyinmi, in Ado Ekiti.”

The visit will be Shettima’s second official trip to Ekiti State since assuming office as Vice President.

In May 2024, he visited the state to inaugurate the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic in Ado Ekiti, among other engagements.

Oyebode said extensive preparations had been made to ensure a successful and memorable visit.

He added that strategic collaboration with the Federal Government, development partners, private sector stakeholders and other sub-national governments remains a central pillar of the Oyebanji administration’s development strategy.
