The film surpasses “One Battle After Another,” which previously held the record with 13 nominations.

Other major contenders include “Frankenstein,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Sentimental Value,” each receiving nine nods, while “Hamnet” follows closely with eight.

In the key categories, “Sinners” is recognised for Best Picture alongside films such as “Bugonia,” “F1,” “Hamnet,” and “Sentimental Value.”

Ryan Coogler received a Best Director nomination for his work on the film, while Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku earned nods in Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories respectively.

Delroy Lindo also secured a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role.

The film’s recognition highlights a growing appetite for genre-bending storytelling, blending gothic horror with period drama, and positioning “Sinners” as a standout production in this year’s awards season.

Internationally, “The Secret Agent” (Brazil), “It Was Just an Accident” (France), and “Sirat” (Spain) are among the Best International Feature nominees, while “Arco” and “Elio” lead the Best Animated Feature category.

Documentary nominations include “The Alabama Solution” and “Mr. Nobody Against Putin.”
