Following the success of its inaugural edition, this year’s event promises to be even bigger, drawing participants from universities across Nigeria.

Themed “Finclusion Revolution: Unlocking Access, Empowering Communities”, the hackathon will challenge tech enthusiasts to create scalable digital solutions using Squad’s advanced APIs.

Participants will address real-world financial access issues in underserved communities, demonstrating how technology can drive economic and social inclusion. The event will feature team-building, brainstorming, and solution development, providing young innovators with a platform to showcase their skills and network with industry leaders.

Eduophon Japhet, Managing Director of HabariPay Ltd, emphasised the company’s commitment to fostering innovation: “The Take on Squad Hackathon reflects our mission of empowering businesses and young innovators. We believe that the next big breakthrough in technology will come from young minds solving universal challenges.”

Registration is now open for teams of four, with grand prizes of ₦5 million for first place, ₦3 million for second, and ₦2 million for third. Exceptional participants will also gain entry into Squad Hackademy, an initiative offering mentorship, learning resources, and exclusive job opportunities within Squad’s ecosystem.

As a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), HabariPay provides digital payment solutions across Africa and the UK.
