Nollywood actress and producer Temitope Osoba will be buried in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, weeks after the 40-year-old Yoruba-language actress died in August.

Osoba’s family announced the new funeral arrangements in an obituary published on the actress’s Instagram page on Monday, September 7.

According to the family, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am on Thursday.

The burial service will follow from 10am to 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.

Her interment will take place immediately after the service at Iperu Remo Cemetery. The family has asked mourners to wear white.

The announcement brings an end to an earlier postponement. Osoba’s burial had initially been scheduled for August 13 but was later suspended indefinitely by her family.

Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, died in early August at the age of 40 after almost two decades in the Nigerian film industry.

The actress and producer was known particularly for her work in Yoruba-language productions and featured in films including Oogun Mi.

Her career was marked by a significant personal battle with breast cancer. About two years before her death, Osoba publicly spoke about her treatment and appealed for support towards her medical care and surgery.

In August 2025, Osoba announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.

Her death nevertheless became surrounded by unanswered questions after conflicting accounts emerged about the circumstances of her final hours.

Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that Osoba died after she was taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. Members of her family reportedly gave a different account of what happened before her death.

The conflicting accounts prompted calls for further investigation. Actor Yomi Fabiyi, among others, called for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding the actress’s death.

Osoba’s family subsequently cautioned against spreading unverified claims about her death and urged the public and media to rely on information issued through the family’s official channels.

The renewed burial arrangements mean Osoba’s family, colleagues and admirers will now gather in Iperu Remo to pay their final respects to an actress whose career spanned nearly 20 years.

The ceremony is expected to bring together members of the Yoruba film community, relatives and friends as the family lays Osoba to rest in her hometown.
