President Bola Tinubu says security forces are fighting hard as he vows the Tinubu banditry terrorism vow will restore peace nationwide

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday night pledged that his administration would decisively defeat banditry and terrorism, assuring Nigerians that security forces are intensifying operations to restore peace and stability across the country.

The President spoke at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while receiving leaders of the Ogbia community of Bayelsa State.

President Tinubu said Nigeria continues to face serious security challenges in parts of the North-West, North-East and North-Central, but stressed that his government was not relenting in confronting violent groups. He said troops were making progress through arrests, prosecutions and the neutralisation of criminal elements.

According to the President, incidents linked to terrorism and banditry often attract wide attention, even when security forces are recording sustained successes on the ground. He maintained that the armed forces were working relentlessly and that victory was assured.

President Tinubu said the men and women of the armed forces were fighting very hard to bring peace and stability to the country, adding that he could guarantee success in the campaign against violent groups. The assurance formed the core of what aides described as the Tinubu banditry terrorism vow to reassure communities affected by insecurity.

Beyond security, the President promised that his administration would continue to expand development efforts in the Niger Delta. He praised the Niger Delta Development Commission under its Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, saying recent interventions were already improving community life and economic activity.

President Tinubu acknowledged that past administrations had failed to adequately support oil-producing communities, but said his government was determined to pursue progress, determination and constructive engagement with the region.

He pledged action on ecological challenges such as erosion and promised to review infrastructure requests, including a proposed bridge described as critical to economic growth.

The President also commended former President Goodluck Jonathan, an Ogbia indigene, describing him as a good leader and citizen.
