In a playful post, Tony Elumelu, the chairman of Heirs Holdings and one of the prominent figures in the Nigerian commercial banking sector, has responded to a Twitter user who jokingly asserted ownership of the serial entrepreneur’s signature red socks.

The Twitter user, Olabode Stephen, shared a photo on his Twitter handle, featuring himself in an office wearing a multicolored shirt, blue pants trousers, and black shoes – nothing out of the ordinary, right?
However, the red socks he was sporting became quite noticeable with the caption he attached to the photo: “Tony Elumelu left the room, I picked his socks.”
The post not only garnered thousands of impressions but also captured the attention of the billionaire Elumelu himself.
In reposting Stephen’s post, the chairman of United Bank for Africa wrote: LOL!
Wearing red socks with corporate attire might seem like a fashion faux pas to ordinary citizens, but such rules do not apply to the elite and celebrities.
