Actress Uche Ogbodo responds to criticism over supporting BBL after the reported death of socialite Elena Jessica following surgery complications
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has responded to criticism over her continued support for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures following the death of socialite Elena Jessica.
Jessica reportedly died after complications from a second BBL surgery, triggering widespread debate online about the safety of cosmetic procedures.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, Ogbodo expressed sadness over the incident but maintained that cosmetic surgery should not be automatically condemned. According to her, many medical procedures carry risks.
She acknowledged that BBL is risky but argued that other surgeries such as fibroid operations, Caesarean sections, and appendicitis procedures also come with potential complications.
The actress said her aim has always been to encourage individuals considering cosmetic surgery to seek proper medical advice and ensure they undergo procedures in reputable hospitals under qualified doctors.
She also stressed the importance of proper aftercare to reduce the risk of infection.
Ogbodo further noted that some women opt for body enhancement procedures after childbirth to regain confidence, stating that taking care of one’s appearance should not be stigmatized.
