‘Wahab, others to be honoured’ Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa names Tonna Ofuasia new president

Notable personalities have been highlighted for the investiture of Rotarian Tonna Ofuasia as the second president of Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa and induction of the new board of Directors for the 2022/2023 Rotary year.

The investiture, which is to raise funds for the Club’s humanitarian projects, is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the LCCI Conference Centre, Alausa Ikeja by 11:00am.

Guests expected at the event include the Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State, Barr. Tokunbo Wahab, who will be leading likes of the Oloregun of Oregun Land Oba Olusesan Akingbola and the Alara of Ilara Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo to the investiture.

According to a press release signed by the club’s installation chairman, Rotarian Sola Ayanwale, and made available to Freelanews, the club will be bestowing awards of recognition for commitment to humanitarian activities on Barr. Wahab, Grand Oak Ltd, Thinkmint amongst others at the event, which will have Ireti Bakare-Yusuf (Sisi Oge of Lagos) as the Keynote Speaker.

The release added that the club would also confer award of Selfless Service on some other well meaning Nigerians like Muyiwa Fagboola, Ade Oyenekan, Adeniyi Adelaja, Gbenga Badejo, Dotun Lampejo, Ayo Olumoko, Tayo Laleye and Femi Awopetu.

The chief host of the day is the first female District Governor of District 9110, Rotarian Omotunde Lawson, FCAI.

The incoming president identified basic education and literacy, maternal and child care, peace and conflict resolution, environment, economic empowerment, water and sanitation as some of the focus areas for the 2022/2023 Rotary year.

Rtrn. Ofuasia added that the club is committed to developing the mind of school children, insisting that there is a need to make education interesting and conducive for children across board.

The incoming president also added that according to the slogan of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa, which reads We care We Love, the club is more than ready to welcome its guests and provide a needed environment for a pleasant event.
