Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to complete all capital projects initiated under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the end of the administration’s tenure.
Wike made the commitment on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, during his monthly media chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he highlighted the infrastructure projects being delivered in Abuja under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister said 107 capital projects initiated by the Tinubu administration had already been commissioned in the Federal Capital Territory, with 76 completed so far.
“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu would have been completed,” Wike said.
He disclosed that another 10 projects would be commissioned before the January elections, while the remaining projects would be completed before the end of Tinubu’s tenure.
“The President’s administration under Bola Tinubu commissioned 107 capital projects. We have completed 76. Before the January election, we will commission 10, and before the end of his tenure, we would have commissioned all the projects,” he said.
Wike also highlighted progress on projects inherited from previous administrations, saying the FCT Administration had continued work on infrastructure left unfinished by earlier governments.
According to him, 23 of the 25 projects inherited from the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari have been completed, with two still ongoing.
“We inherited 25 projects from President Buhari and completed 23, while two are currently ongoing,” he said.
The minister added that six of eight projects inherited from the administrations of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had also been completed, leaving two ongoing.
“We inherited eight projects from the administrations of President Jonathan and President Yar’Adua. We have completed six, while two are ongoing,” Wike said.
The FCT minister said the administration was determined to avoid leaving unfinished projects behind, arguing that completing existing infrastructure was essential to delivering value from public spending.
Wike also challenged critics to compare the scale of infrastructure development under the Tinubu administration with what was achieved by previous governments in the nation’s capital.
“In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come out,” he said.
The latest pledge comes as the FCT Administration continues to showcase infrastructure delivery as one of the major areas of focus under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

With several projects still under construction, Wike’s commitment places renewed attention on the administration’s ability to meet its completion deadlines before the end of Tinubu’s tenure.
