Wike reinstates FCT officials Danlami Hayyo and Michael Ango, ordering an immediate return to duty while warning against indiscipline

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reinstated the FCT Mandate Secretary for Education, Danlami Hayyo, and the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service, Michael Ango, directing both officials to resume duties with immediate effect.

The reinstatement was announced in Abuja by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister on public communication and social media, in an official statement.

According to Mr Olayinka, Mr Wike approved the decision while issuing a clear warning against indiscipline among officials of the FCT Administration, stressing the importance of proper conduct and adherence to established directives.

Mr Hayyo had been suspended on November 25 after issuing a circular ordering the early closure of schools in the territory over alleged security concerns.

The directive prompted administrative scrutiny within the education secretariat.

Mr Ango was suspended.

At the time of the action, no public explanation was provided regarding the specific offence that led to the suspension.

The reinstatement of both senior officials marks a decisive move by the minister, signalling a return to normal operations within the affected departments while reinforcing expectations of discipline and accountability across the FCT Administration.
