A woman, Bilkisu Sani, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command over the alleged killing of her husband, Hafizu Gausu, in Rogo Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in the Katsalle area of Rogo, where the deceased was reportedly found with a fatal head injury following a domestic dispute. Police have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Residents told investigators that the couple had been experiencing repeated disagreements over Gausu’s reported plans to marry a second wife. Community members said elders had previously intervened in an attempt to reconcile the family, but the dispute allegedly persisted.

A resident of the community, Auwal Kazagi Rogo, said neighbours rushed to the house after hearing Bilkisu raising an alarm that her husband had been attacked. On arrival, they reportedly found Gausu lying in a pool of blood with a severe head injury.

Police officers later evacuated the body and arrested Bilkisu as the prime suspect in the case. The deceased was buried on Saturday morning in accordance with Islamic rites, while detectives continue gathering evidence.
