As a testament to the power of visionary leadership and collaborative efforts, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised his Commissioner of Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, for spearheading an ambitious cleanup campaign in Lagos.

The project aims to eliminate waste and reduce pollution, embracing innovative thinking and unwavering discipline.

According to the governor, Wahab has exhibited a perfect blend of passion, pragmatism, and the discipline required to tackle the state’s most challenging issues when the latter assumed the role of Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources.

The campaign, which brings together key agencies in Lagos State, hit the ground running, committing to the arduous task of cleaning up Lagos. One tangible example of their dedicated efforts is the transformation of an illegal dumpsite in Amuwo Odofin.

“The Clean Up of Lagos, getting rid of waste and reducing pollution is a shared vision and collective effort that demands out-of-the-box thinking and extreme discipline.

“When I moved @tokunbo_wahab to the role of Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, it was because I saw passion and pragmatism as well as the discipline required to do the difficult things.

“Working closely with @Lawma_gov, @LasepaOfficial, @LAGESCOfficial, as well as other agencies, they have hit the ground running in the efforts to clean up Lagos.

“This is a very good example of clearing and regenerating an illegal dumpsite in Amuwo Odofin.

“A lot of such projects are going on across the state and I need the support of ALL residents in achieving the success of this goal,” the governor wrote on his X handle.

While sounding a note of warning to Lagos residents, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commendation reflects the dedication and creativity that have come to define the cleanup campaign.

“Stop indiscriminate dumping. Bag your waste. Patronise PSP operators,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
