The Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has stated that he is willing to work with Mexico to expand Abuja’s agricultural industry.

This was said by Wike during office visit from Mr. Alfredo Ortiz, the Mexican ambassador to Nigeria.

Mexico is a nation well-known for its agriculture. Numerous Mexicans in Nigeria operate numerous agricultural businesses.

He declared, “As the FCT, we have always wished to collaborate with nations and businesses that will support the FCT’s agricultural development and, of course, tourism.”

According to the minister, Abuja has all the necessary components to follow President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda and become a globally recognized tourist destination.

The eight-point agenda, he clarified, was intended to boost the country’s economy, generate wealth and jobs, lessen hunger, and include women and young people in the political process.

In order to draw in investors, he continued, efforts were being made to guarantee compliance with the law.

Therefore, in order to grow our agriculture industry, we as a city are willing to work with investors in partnerships. There is land available for agriculture in Abuja.

Abuja’s citizens want to see agriculture revive the local economy and give countless young people jobs.

There won’t be any more bureaucratic roadblocks. Thus, we are open to collaborating with businesses in Mexico,” Wike declared.

The minister stated that Mexico and Nigeria share many similarities and that both have the capacity to overcome obstacles and place their countries at the forefront of economic development.

In the event that favorable conditions were met, Ortiz guaranteed Wike that Mexican investors would be open to funding the agricultural sector in the FCT.
