Best selling author, Reno Omokri, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for initiating the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, describing it as a ‘Landmark’ achievement in Nigeria’s infrastructural development.

The project, when completed, is poised to be the largest infrastructural endeavor in the country’s history.

Omokri, a well-known public commentator, expressed his full support for the highway, which will significantly benefit the economies of Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states.

He emphasized the project’s potential to create hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs during its construction phase. Upon completion, the highway will enhance connectivity between the Southwest and South-South regions, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and services from coastal ports to the hinterlands, thereby promoting national unity.

In response to critics of the project, Omokri offered a straightforward solution: “Please do not use it when it is finished.”

He also addressed those hesitant about investing in Lagos, suggesting they might prefer relocating to places where individual interests supersede national interests.

Omokri concluded his remarks with a patriotic blessing: “May God bless Nigeria.”

The flag-off of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway marks a huge step in advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure and economic integration.

The Flag Off today of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is indeed a ‘Landmark’ achievement. I applaud the President and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for this project, which, when completed, will be the single largest infrastructural project in Nigeria’s history.

To those opposed to the project, I offer a simple solution. Please do not use it when it is finished. And to those who believe that people should “Invest in Lagos at your own peril”, you may want to consider relocating to any country or state where individual interests are placed above national interests.

I fully support this project, which will directly impact the economies of Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, and Cross River states infidelity, and Nigeria as a whole. During construction, hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs will be created. After completion, it will shorten the distance between the Southwest and South-South, further uniting Nigeria and making it easier to move people, goods and services from the various port cities and towns along our coastline to the hinterlands.

May God bless Nigeria.
