The Area Headquarters of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), His Unity Sanctuary, Kubwa, Abuja, has embarked on a community feeding outreach to support the indigent and less privileged in the church community.
The area pastor, Yemi Ayodele, said the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-induced lockdown order hit a lot of Nigerians hard in many quarters and things might likely not get better in a few weeks from now, as a lot of people lost their means of livelihood.
According to him, part of the Christian Social Responsibility of the church in times like this is to rise and support the indigent.
He revealed that to mitigate the hardship, they embarked on a feeding outreach, which started on April 8.
Ayodele said they would hold the feeding programme thrice weekly in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
At each feeding outreach, which holds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, over 200 people are catered for, he revealed.
