The initiative, which was announced in a statement from the Foundation’s Programme Director, Kiema Ogunlana, is a response to the needs of vulnerable communities in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

The programme, which began this week, is designed to provide daily nourishment for over 450 individuals in the Chika, Galadinmawa, and Durumi 2 communities.

The Foundation’s efforts focus on reaching some of the most marginalised groups, including orphans, vulnerable children, almajiri (traditional Qur’anic students), and people with disabilities, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals during Ramadan.

Speaking about the initiative, Ogunlana highlighted that it is more than just a feeding programme—it’s a lifeline for those who might otherwise struggle to obtain food, particularly during the fasting month.

The Foundation’s commitment to sourcing food items carefully and distributing meals to those in need demonstrates a deep dedication to alleviating hunger and promoting community wellbeing.

At the heart of this charitable mission is Dr. Aisha Achimugu (OFR), the founder and president of the Foundation. Her exceptional generosity and compassion have earned her widespread admiration, and this initiative further exemplifies her passion for uplifting others.

Achimugu’s vision of eradicating hunger and restoring dignity to the less fortunate through acts of kindness has transformed the programme into a movement of hope that extends far beyond simple meal distribution.

The Ramadan feeding initiative serves as a reminder of the true spirit of Ramadan—emphasising sharing, caring, and fostering solidarity among all members of society.

By engaging with and supporting the vulnerable, the Foundation continues to encourage communal harmony and ensure that those in need experience the blessings of the holy month.

In conclusion, the Aisha Achimugu Foundation’s 30-day Ramadan feeding programme is a testament to the enduring power of kindness.

It not only provides essential nourishment but also reinforces the importance of collective responsibility and compassion.
