The State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola, made this announcement during the cheque presentation ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.

Commissioner Adenola stated, “A total of twenty billion, one hundred and twenty three million, four hundred and twenty thousand, six hundred and ninety one naira seventy kobo has been disbursed to 7,076 in the state.”

He emphasized that this disbursement underscores the unwavering commitment of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to the welfare of the dependants of fallen police officers.

Adenola reassured serving police personnel that the nation and the force would not abandon them and would continue to prioritize their well-being.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, acknowledging the immense challenges and financial burdens that accompany the sudden loss of a family’s provider.

“To the families of our falling heroes, I extend our sincere condolences. We acknowledge the immense challenges, including financial burdens that come with sudden loss of a family breadwinner.

“A total of twenty billion, one hundred and twenty three million, four hundred and twenty thousand, six hundred and ninety one naira seventy kobo has been disbursed to 7,076 in the state,” said Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola.

While no amount can fully compensate your loss, we stand in solidarity with you during this difficult time,” Commissioner Adenola said. “It is our hope that the cheques being presented today (Tuesday) will provide some relief and support to you. We pray that they bring some comfort, particularly in this trying moment.”

He also addressed the dependents of deceased colleagues who have not yet received their full entitlements, assuring them that the current police administration under IGP Egbetokun is committed to resolving all outstanding backlog of claims.

Furthermore, Commissioner Adenola highlighted the introduction of the Nigerian Police Insurance Claim Management Portal, a new innovation designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in the processing of insurance claims for police personnel.

Conceptualized under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun, this technology-driven platform aims to streamline the claims process, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure timely disbursement of entitlements to beneficiaries.

“By harnessing technology, we are streamlining the process, eliminating bottlenecks, and ensuring beneficiaries receive their entitlements promptly.

This initiative underscores our commitment to digital transformation and modernizing our system for effective service delivery. I encourage all officers and personnel to fully utilize the portal and support its success,” he stated.
