Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has been named Best Commissioner of the Year at the 21st Excellence Recognition Awards for her visionary leadership and impact

Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, has been honoured with the prestigious Best Commissioner of the Year Award at the 21st Edition of the Excellence Recognition Awards. The ceremony took place on Sunday at Etal Hotels and Halls, Oregun, Ikeja.

The Commissioner was represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, who was accompanied by senior management staff.

While accepting the award on Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka’s behalf, Mr. Bajulaiye lauded her visionary leadership and the significant transformational impact she has brought to the Ministry in a relatively short period.

He characterised her tenure as a period marked by remarkable dedication and substantial achievements in advancing tourism, arts, and culture within Lagos State.

This platform continues to be a strong testament to the consistency of excellence and a celebration of industry trailblazers.

Bajulaiye also extended commendation to the organisers of the award, led by Mayor Akinpelu, for their consistent commitment to recognising excellence across diverse sectors in Lagos State.

The Permanent Secretary underscored the pivotal role of tourism and culture in driving inclusive and sustainable development.

He highlighted how the sector generates opportunities for youth engagement and has successfully positioned Lagos as a premier destination for cultural tourism on the global map.
